We had a great time!
She ate well and we played games. But then we encountered the balls machine.
This machine and I had it out because I was bound and determined to get a ball of every color. This is a machine that allows you to play until you win. So I won a green ball for her. She was so excited. But when going for the blue one, I grabbed a soccer ball. Not satisfied with this, I wanted to go for it again. VICTORY! I got the blue ball. I then noticed there were 3 purple ones bunched together. Oh yes, I was going to win my baby this purple ball. She already had her hands inside the little retrieval door, ready to catch her ball.
Suddenly, the crane grabbed two balls. Could it be true? Could we be getting the purple ball and another green ball in one try?
No...
The stupid crane dropped the purple ball and gave us another green one.
Still wanting that purple ball, I tried again.
VICTORY! We got the purple ball.
By this point I realized there were two colors we had not gotten yet...red and pink.
And so I swiped my card again and went for the red one.
VICTORY!
Kaleigh reached into the door and grabbed her red ball. The next thing I knew, she looked me with 5 of these small balls in her arms and said, "No more balls, mommy." Never has my child told me she didn't want another ball. That is when I realized she could have cared less about ball colors or how many she got. My "let's show this machine who's boss" complex had taken control of me. Because of this, the girl working the floor offered me a bag to carry Kaleigh's arsenal of balls. Yes, it was quite noticeable that there was an armload issue as my 2 1/2 year old, who wouldn't let me carry any of her balls, walked around the game floor at Gattiland with 5 balls in her little arms. She could barely see over them.

Our last stop was the grocery store where Kaleigh broke into fruit snacks and threw a holy fit in the middle of Kroger when she dropped some and wanted me to give them to her off of the floor. I am sure I sounded angry when I said, "No Kaleigh, the floor is filthy germy and it'll make you sick if you eat them. They're trash." This resulted in me opening another pack of fruit snacks to keep her from giving the other shoppers a nervous breakdown. She is usually excellent when we go shopping, but my tired little ball pirate was cranky.
We survived that, went home, and boy was it a day. In the end, I know Kaleigh was happy about all of her balls because she was able to share with her sister. ;) They had a blast with them.
