Well, it has happened...I am pregnant again. And so I figured I would document the adventures we are about to have because, unlike our first two pregnancies, this one is literally changing larger aspects of our lives.
When Kaleigh was born in 2009, our concern was acquiring baby stuff. We didn't need a bigger car and we didn't need to move yet. We would move a year later to ease the space issue.
When Amie was born in 2011, we had everything we needed except a few minor things. We hadn't gotten rid of any of Kaleigh's stuff. Again, we didn't need a new car and our house was big enough.
Anyway, we found out on April 30th that we are expecting our 3rd child. Currently, Kaleigh is 2 years, 7 months, and some odd days old and Amie is just over 9 1/2 months old. Yes, we were shocked. Our daughters are 21 months apart and now the difference between Amie and the new baby won't even be 18 months. When it is all said and done, we will have had 3 children within 3 years and 3 1/2 months...so not even 3 1/2 years.
And so one of the first things I thought of when reading the pregnancy test results and getting through the leg-numbing mixture of joy and the realization that things were going to change BIG TIME was THE CAR. Oh my gosh, the car is a 2004 Cavalier that we paid off a couple of years ago. Both of our cars are paid off, but neither one is large enough. We have two car seats in the back seat of the Cavalier and there is a whole foot between them. My husband's Firebird has two bucket seats in the back. Being that finances have been tight, we are going to be forced into having to buy a larger vehicle. We are also going to have to move in about a year. We figure we can get by with baby being in the bassinet in our room for the first three months, but after that there is nowhere to put the baby because the girls already share their room. The vehicle comes first, though, because we can make do in our home a little longer if we have to.
So what does this mean? Momma Savings is going to have to start finding even deeper savings and, of course, I will always direct you their way. It is going to be a challenge being pregnant and running after two small children to then be taking care of a newborn and two bickering little girls. In fact, I just heard Kaleigh tell her little sister that she's weird, so, yes, it has begun.
And so I figured to keep myself sane, I am going to document the happenings. For instance, Kaleigh thought Desitin was toothpaste and decided to use my toothbrush. I didn't know what the problem was last night when she was opening her mouth and saying "ewww, nasty" over and over...until I brushed my teeth before bed. Yeah, I still can't get the taste out of my mouth.
Anyway, stay tuned until the next time my daughter messes with my taste buds. You will most likely know about it.
